After years of research and preparation, Thien Tan Solar power plant located in Duc Minh commune has been groundbreaking by Thien Tan Investment Construction Joint Stock Company, the plant has capacity of 19,2 MW, applied Thailand’s solar technology, land use expected is 34 ha, with total investment approximately 900 billion VND.
Under the plan up to July of 2016, power from the first large scale Solar plant of country will be on national grid, adding 28 million kwh per year for country’s power supply.
The plant is preferential for land rental and business income tax exemption for 4 years, 50% reduction of payable corporate income tax in the next 9 years for incomes from implementation of new investment project.
Thien Tan Solar plant is the first large project connects to Viet Nam national grid. The successful of this project will be a historic milestone in the field of Solar energy for development of Viet Nam. An outstanding aspect of this project is absolute non-pollution in operation process (no dust, noise and waste water)
At groundbreaking ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Mr.Hoang Trung Hai said: The development of solar energy has a great significance, create a new direction for the development of Viet Nam electricity – using renewable energy from solar energy, contributing to the 2030 target of 20% country electricity from renewable energy. Deputy Prime Minister said: “This project will definitely succeed”
The deployment of Thien Tan solar power plant at this area will open development opportunities for the eastern coastal of Mo Duc district, Quang Ngai province. Along with this project, Thien Tan Group also implementing another 1.000 MW solar power project with total investment of 2 billion USD in Ninh Thuan province.
